Frame Anchorage Systems
GUARDIAN frame anchorage systems provide additional protection from the danger of flying glass following an explosion or where overhead or suspended glass could be subject to spontaneous breakage.
Frame anchorage is where GUARDIAN blast mitigation or security window film is applied to the glass and then anchored into the window frame.
There are three variations of GUARDIAN anchorage system
- High specification structural silicone adhesive. The combination of the film and the silicone adhesive provides enough “flexibility” to absorb impact to contain the glass and substantially reduce the likelihood of any flying glass. This system is also particularly useful for enhancing security against theft.
- A reinforced polymer extrusion is bonded to the filmed glass using either a multi-surface tape or structural silicone. This system is particularly useful for reinforcing internal silicone jointed glass partitioning.
- An edge battening profile utilising a rubber gasket. The film is wrapped behind the battening profile, which is then screwed into the window frame. The combination of the film and the battening profile significantly increase the capacity for blast pressure and body impact loads.
GUARDIAN 200 micron thick blast mitigation or security window film is the minimum grade that should be used with an anchorage system.
