Blast Mitigation
GUARDIAN blast mitigation window film is specially designed to protect against injury from flying glass resulting from bomb blast or industrial explosions. It has been tested and approved to BS EN 12600. Independent testing has proven its efficiency for protection in an explosion. It also provides protection against personal impact, vandalism and theft. Available in thicknesses ranging from 50 micron to 350 micron and clear or tinted finishes (see also Safety Films).
When assessing the potential for injury or damage from flying glass in the event of an explosion it is sometimes decided to anchor the film to the window frame. This is also advisable where overhead glass could be subject to spontaneous breakage or to further enhance security against theft (see Frame Anchorage Systems).
