Window film with added strength
All the window film we supply to protect against explosion has been rigorously tested and complies with BS EN 12600. This standard refers to a pendulum impact test method that classifies glazing according to how it reacts to a certain impact and relates to increasing personal safety by reducing cutting and piercing injuries to individuals and the level of containment of the material when impacted.
These tests allow us to show that specialist blast-protection window film, whilst not able to prevent the glass from breaking does, in fact, substantially reduce the amount of glass that comes free from the pane during an explosion, thereby reducing personal injury and damage to the building in general. Anchoring your window film
Window film can be applied straight onto the glazing (Daylight System), but if you’re looking for extra strength, you might want to consider anchoring the film to the window frame. This may be particularly useful for larger windows, or glazed roofs, where the risk of falling glass is increased.
